Daphne Guinness is a unique artist at the peak of her creative powers, and her new single, ‘Time’ is proof of that. It’s a theatrical track that opens with an elegant, pristine vocal above melodramatic piano and soaring strings. It’s bold, but delivered in a playful, slightly tongue-in-cheek way that soon unfolds into a groovy, slowly building disco beat. On the writing process, she says: “I went to a deep mediation centre in Sedona, Arizona and they attached electrodes to my head to monitor my brainwaves, during one of these sessions the phrase 'All of the clichés are true' suddenly came to me. I started laughing. Apparently my brainwaves went nuts. I just had to put it in the song.” Daphne Guinness’ new album, Sleep, is due for release on April 19th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
